IT’S ALL HAPPENING IN STAPLEFORD!
Exciting Developments are happening in Stapleford. Following the successful grant fudding of £21.1m from the Government as part of the Towns Deal work has started on one of the projects.
A former derelict building has been demolished to make way for a new car park which will include EV charging points. This new car park will pave the way for the redevelopment of the Victoria Street Car Park (next to Poundstretcher) Into an “Enterprise Hub”
The hub, planned for the current Victoria Street car park site, will include a 600m2 indoor market space, a destination for independent bistro style food outlets, a vibrant indoor market to the ground floor, as well as 600m2 of flexible office space for start-up and existing business to the first floor offering flexible office / creative space for entrepreneurs on hourly, daily or weekly letting schedule, and a community garden terrace on the second floor.
Our director of the Stapleford Branch, Paul Sweeney, is Vice Chair of the executive board responsible for delivering the projects of the Towns Deal. He is pictured here with Tim Hallam, Broxtowe Borough Councillor in front of the site of the new car park.
Paul commented, we want to make Stapleford a great place to work and do business. By creating a central focus through a new ‘Enterprise hub’ with a diverse offer, we aim to encourage increased footfall and stimulate inclusive growth and prosperity in the town. The indoor/outdoor market will offer a flexible space and offer day and evening event space. Great for the local community and also will turn Stapleford into a destination for the wider community.
