NEARLY £50 MILLION TO BE INVESTED IN TWO OF OUR TOWNS
Long Eaton and Stapleford have both been awarded funding from the government to help with regeneration as part of the “levelling up” Programme. The funding will provide for a number of projects which have been worked on by each Town’s ’Investment Plan Board‘ to encourage growth in a number of key areas of business, education and community facilities. Long Eaton will see the redevelopment of both now derelict cinemas, as well as improvements to road junctions including The Green Roundabout where our branches are situated. West Park will benefit from a new waterfront events space and the market will be relocated back to the it’s historical site, in heart of the Town Centre.
The Stapleford projects are no less ambitious with a new Enterprise Hub in the town centre offering an Indoor/outdoor market, with space for pop up street food vendors, office space and a roof garden with events area and bar! There will be a new community and sports pavilion on Hickings lane and a Cycle Super Highway connecting the residential areas to places of work and leisure activities. One of our directors, Paul Sweeney is Vice Chair of the Stapleford Town Board and has been involved in the Bid from the start. Paul is extremely proud to be involved in the scheme and believes the projects will transform Stapleford for the benefit of local businesses, the community and also encourage new businesses and visitors to the area as it will in Long Eaton.
