Emma Cavers is 41 this October and started Robert Ellis when she was just 18 years old. Coming straight from school Emma did a weeks work experience at the Long Eaton branch and a few weeks later an opportunity became available for a vacancy at the Stapleford branch. Emma applied and got the job.
At the time when Emma started as an Office Junior she was printing photos and sticking them onto the property details, how far we have come now with digital marketing. After a few weeks of Emma starting she was moved to the Beeston branch and her main roles there were answering the phone, booking appointments, sticking photos onto the property details and making sure the window display was correct and of course making lots of cups of tea!
Emma then started to learn how to set up the grid for the newspaper advertisement to go in the local paper which had to be in price order, was all hand written and could be quite frustrating when a last minute new instruction came on the market and needed to be fitted in a slot. Over the coming years Emma then learnt to be a Sales Negotiator. In the estate agency industry this is one of the most important jobs, talking to people and understanding their needs and circumstances. This job can also be very rewarding helping lots of people find their first home but it can also be very challenging when things go wrong or if it is a difficult situation having to help a family sell a property because they have lost a loved one.
Emma was then promoted to the Long Eaton Office Manager and took this role on for approximately 7 years making sure the office was run smoothly on a day to day basis. At this current moment Emma is now one of the Senior Valuers at the Long Eaton branch. Throughout the last 21 years Emma has gained knowledge in different industries that work alongside the Estate Agency and has a wealth of knowledge with regards to selling properties and the mortgage business. From sales negotiating, pricing properties, management offices, talking to solicitors, there isn’t anything Emma hasn’t done in this industry. In the last 2 years alone Emma has helped sell over 200 properties and we feel has more local knowledge than most other local estate agents in the areas.
